Matthew Thomas Malek

Matthew Thomas Malek, age 53, died unexpectedly on October 31, 2016 at his home in Warren, Michigan. Matthew was born November 28, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan, son of Jeanette Margaret (Luszczewski) Malek and the late Marvin Thomas Malek.Matt was raised in Detroit and attended Denby High School. Following his schooling, he worked for many years within the automotive industry primarily as a machinist. Additionally, Matt also worked for the Hamlin Pub in Chesterfield Township as a member of their kitchen staff.Matt was a gentle, kind soul who could also be a tough guy, when necessary. However, Matt would always end any argument with a big hug. He was truly the rock of his family, always available to help or assist anyone in a time of need.Matt's passion in life was his children and family. He moved in with his mother to become her caregiver, and handle the laundry, cooking, cleaning, and assist his mother with all of her needs. Down time was always spent with family, usually watching any Detroit sporting event or cheering on his beloved University of Michigan Wolverines.Matt was the loving father of Jina Lee Malek and Justin Malek. He was the beloved son of Margaret and the late Marvin Malek. Dear Brother of Mickey (Michael) Bellia, Michael (Carol) Malek, Marvin Malek, Mary (Bob) Pearson, Monica (Ramon) Valdez, Mark (Jewel) Malek, and Marty (Susan) Malek.
