

Maureen P. Ganz, age 59, passed away on Saturday morning, February 2, 2013 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 1, 1953 in Wolverhampton, England, daughter of Frank and Eileen Gorman. While still an infant, she emigrated with her family to Stratford, Ontario and later, in 1966, to the Detroit area. She graduated from Detroit's Dominican High School and ultimately made her home in Sterling Heights. Maureen enjoyed gardening and beading, but most of all she shared with her family a love of music. Through this shared passion, she met her husband, Greg, whom she leaves to cherish her memory. She is also survived by her parents, Frank & Eileen Gorman of Warren; daughter, Jenny (Chris) Luttermoser of Ann Arbor; son, Joseph Muniz; sister, Rosaleen (Bob) Iwankovitsch of Warren; brothers-in-law, Lawrence (Sandra) Ganz of Traverse City and Joseph (Carol) Ganz of Nevada; and nieces, Emily Iwankovitsch and Julie (Craig) Waple of Flat Rock, Michigan. She was also the great aunt of Aria, Gianna, Dreya, Trenton Waple, Jennie Ganz and Ron Ganz. Preceding Maureen in death were her sister, Anne Gorman; her husband's parents, Gino & Mary Ganz; and nephew, Jeffrey Ganz. Her family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who cared for Maureen throughout her illness. Visitation for Maureen will be held on Monday, February 4th from 5-9pm and Tuesday from 2-9pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state on Wednesday from 9am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road in Warren, with cremation to follow.Memorial donations are welcomed to the Arthritis Foundation of Michigan, 1050 Wilshire Drive, Suite 302, Troy, MI 48084 or to www.arthritis.org/michigan.Please share memories of Maureen at her memory book.
