

Michael John Lukasavage, 78, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan on January 29th, 2025. He was born on December 19th, 1946 in West Branch, Michigan. Michael was a graduate of De La Salle High School (1965) and attended Macomb Community College where he met the love of his life, Joanne, in 1967.
Michael was a veteran of the United States Army where he patriotically served as a combat infantryman in Vietnam from July 1968 until his honorable discharge from service in July of 1970. He married Joanne on October 30th, 1970 and was a loyal and loving husband for 54 years. They had three children together and Michael was a devoted, hardworking, and proud father, grandfather, and provider to his family. He prominently displayed his pride in being a veteran and loved his family.
Michael was a foreman journeyman electrician for over 40 years and was a member of the IBEW Local 58. He was a member of both the VFW and American Legion organizations, and served as a commissioner for 10 years at Camp Curnalia Cottage Owner’s Association located at Higgins Lake, MI, where he enjoyed time with his family at the cottage. He was a skilled handyman and loved to build creative gadgets and fly his drone. He coached many of his children’s sports teams and loved to play darts with his friends. Being a grandparent was a great joy for him in his later years.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Joanne, his proud children, Michael, David and Susan (Jeffrey) Masserang, and his adoring grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Abigail and Lilly.
He was predeceased by his mother, Geraldine Lukasavage, father, Walter Lukasavage, Jr., and his brother, Gary Lukasavage.
Michael will be cremated and buried in a private service at Oakwood Cemetery in Roscommon, MI near Higgins Lake at a date to be determined by his family. Donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at T2T.ORG
