Paul Alan Brand, age 47 of Sterling Heights, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. He was born November 9, 1968 in Mt, Clemens, beloved son of Jacqueline "Ann" (nee: Rasp) Brand and the late Byron "Skip" Brand.Paul was employed within the food service industry as a cook,…which just happened to be a natural fit as he could work some incredible magic in the kitchen. Whether with a stove, oven or barbeque, Paul knew how to prepare a great meal,…and many of them were culinary masterpieces. If you left his table hungry, you just weren't tryin'!And after a good meal, nothing said fun and entertaining to Paul as much as the times spent mastering his video gaming skills. Yes,…Paul was a "Gamer" who could compete with the best of them, yet find the joy in the simplicity of the games as well. Paul was a simple man with simple tastes, one of which was his love for fishing. Always in search of the "Big One," fishing was equally about the peacefulness and serenity of the outdoors as it was about the excitement of a nudge on the end of a line. It's known as a sport,…the sport of relaxing of which Paul was a champion.Yet for as much as Paul enjoyed reaping the harvest from an afternoon down at a favorite fishing hole, it was Jesus' Great Commission to be "fisher's of men" that he sought after the most. Known for his deep and abiding faith in God, Paul had the heart of a servant and ministered to countless souls in his journey through this life. Especially meaningful were the many hours he spent volunteering at his church down in Clearwater, Florida. A loving son, brother and uncle, Paul leaves our presence far too soon,…but not without leaving a loving and inspirational impact on the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He'll be missed immensely and loved eternally. Go Rest High, Dear Brother,…safe in the arms of God.Paul was the dearest brother of Kip (Carol) Brand, Eric (Teresa) Brand, and Mark Brand. Loving uncle of Alex, Eric, Andrew, and Jackie. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering for Paul will be held on Sunday, June 19th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Prentiss Pointe Apartments, 39111 Prentiss Road in Harrison Township, Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ½ mile) in Warren. Please share memories of Paul at his memory book above.
