Peter William Hess

Peter was the son of the late Servatius and the late Beatrice Hess. Beloved husband of Sandra. Dear father of Robert (Lori) Hess, and the late Dan Hess. Loving grandfather of Nicolie (Michael) Lalone and Cory Finazzo. Brother of Anna Marjorie (Ken) Garton, Matthew (Linda) Hess, John Christopher (Veronica) Hess, and the late Margaret (Fred) Simmons. Also survived by several loving cousins and extended family members.

Peter enjoyed a long career in food service management with the Canteen Corporation until his retirement in 2002. He loved entertaining his family and thousands of others with his life long passion for magic, including volunteering to perform monthly magic shows for the rehab unit at St. John Macomb Hospital for over 20 years.

As a man of deep faith, he was strongly committed to his men’s groups and volunteered in many areas of his church including the grief & loss support group, and the Church Beautification Committee.

Peter’s greatest treasure was the love he shared with his wife and two sons. Their 55 year marriage will continue to inspire everyone who knew him.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a private, family only, Memorial Service for Peter will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 5pm – 8pm. The Service will be streamed Live to Unity of Royal Oak’s Facebook page at 7 pm. After the service, the archives will remain for those who could not attend.
