Born in Detroit to the late Elmer Feighner and Cora Feighner Cates. Ralph worked over 40 years at Chrysler starting out on the line in the shop and working his way up as an analyst when he retired in 1991. An avid baseball fan, Ralph never missed a Tigers game. He loved to go see the Tigers play with his family and would watch them on TV later on in life. He married his beloved wife Marian in 1956 they enjoyed 46 years together. He and Marian would go out to dance to their favorite big band music, they were talented dancers and always had a great time together. For many years they were part of a bowling league with their lifelong friends John and Sue and loved the card games with longtime friends Dick and Nancy. They loved each other dearly, even just being together was quality time spent for Ralph. Together they raised two daughters Karen and Susan and enjoyed many great family times with their daughters at the house in Detroit and then on Warren. When Karen and Susan were growing up they would go on a family trip every summer in their camper around the U.S. When the grandchildren were born, he loved spending time with them, bicycling and golfing or playing games, but more than anything Ralph just enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with his family. During his retirement Ralph and John became especially close and would play penny slots together at the casino or just hang out together. When he had time to himself, Ralph read the newspaper every day. He had a number of newspapers regularly delivered, but the Wall Street Journal was one of his favorites. Ralph enjoyed his life and lived his life just the way he wanted, happy and relaxed.
Beloved husband of the late Marian for 46 years. Cherished father of Karen (Bruce) Ryder and Susan (Art) Osentoski. Beloved grandfather of Rachael, Chris, and Olivia. Great-grandfather of Charlotte. Brother of Virginia Karp.
