Rita Sue Pollard

Rita Sue Pollard age 71 of Fraser died Monday March 18th, 2013 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens Michigan. Rita was born December 10, 1941 in Plainview Texas the daughter of Macela "Ike" and the late Lucille Johnson.Rita was raised in Texas and graduated with a teaching degree and later received her Masters of Teaching while in Texas. Rita loved children and aspired to nurture young minds. She taught for the Military in Korea as a civilian and later returned to Texas and taught for many years before moving to Michigan where she continued her education career teaching for the Detroit Public Schools at Guyton Elementary on the Eastside of Detroit. She was a beloved teacher to all.When Rita was not working she loved to knit and travel with her husband. She also enjoyed shopping and spoiling her cherished dog Bentley. Rita has a kind soul and was devoted to helping others, especially her family members.Mrs. Pollard was the beloved wife of Patrick Pollard. She is the dear mother of Todd (Terri) Burleson, Michael (Judy) Pollard, Daniel (Linda) Pollard, Thomas (Cheryl) Pollard, and Robert Pollard. Sister of Tom (Dixie) Johnson, and Orland (The Late Betty) Gilbert. Rita is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many loving family members and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Pollard will be Thursday from 3-9pm with a 7:00 pm Evening Vigil, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 1/2 Mile). Mrs. Pollard will lie in state Friday 10:30am at St. Ronald Catholic Church, 17701 15 Mile Road in Clinton Township, until the Funeral Mass at 11am. Memorial contributions may be made to Fr.
