Shawn Donald Burke

Shawn Donald Burke, age 59 of Warren, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Ascension St. John Hospital in Warren, Michigan. He was born July 28, 1961 in Detroit, son of the late Donald and the late Evelyn (nee: Moilanen) Burke. Shawn was also the cherished son-in-law of Suzanne and the late George “Coach” Steele.

Shawn was the beloved husband of April, his bride of 25 years. Devoted & loving father of Halle and Andrew. Dearest brother of Kevin (Sandy), Brian (John), Maureen Smith, the late Lawrence, and the late Sheila Finney. He was the brother-in-law of JoAnn Burke, Brett and Julie Steele, Mark and Annette Dobrzynski, the late James Smith, and the late Michael Finney. Shawn leaves to cherish his memory 5 nephews, 4 nieces, 8 great nephews and 1 great niece.

Shawn was an avid fisherman. A true “Putzer”…all who knew Shawn were well aware that “Shawn’s way was always right.” He was an employee for 25 years with the U.S. Postal Service.

Shawn is resting at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home located at 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren, Michigan.

His visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12th from 3-9 pm, and again on Sunday, June 13th from 2-9 pm, with a 7pm Funeral Service, at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Shawn’s brother, Brian Burke.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the funeral home.
