Therese was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was filled with love, faith, and family. She attended St. Elizabeth High School and, right after graduation, began her career at Michigan Bell, which she called ‘MaBell’. She worked there faithfully until her retirement at the young age of 56. A devout Catholic, Therese was a parishioner of St. Faustina, where she volunteered her time and helped with parish money counting. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
Therese was known for her many passions and talents. She lovingly knitted personalized Christmas stockings for every member of her family—more than 100 in total—leaving behind a treasured legacy that will be cherished for generations. She was an avid bowler, card player, and especially enjoyed euchre and Scrabble. Daily crossword puzzles, cooking new recipes, and watching “Days of Our Lives” were favorite pastimes.
She adored her dogs, Pepper and Shadow, and always treasured time spent at her cottage in Canada. A proud Detroit Tigers fan, Therese rarely missed a game. She also enjoyed photography, capturing countless family memories through the years. Her gin martinis, black licorice, and her unwavering determination—even down to never wasting food—were part of what made her uniquely herself.
Therese’s strong spirit, both physically and mentally, will be remembered by all who knew her. She spoke her mind, loved deeply, and gave generously of her time and talents. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love, strength, and tradition will live on in the many lives she touched.
Therese is survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Margaret (the late Cass) Michaels, Maureen (the late Ron) McMahan, Geraldine (Larry) Prusczkiewicz, Celine (Don) Henning, Allen (the late Flo) Stieber, and Jacqueline (Bernie) Wouters.
