

He is survived by his children, Diane (Vince) Pitre, Karen (Tom) Oliveri, Heidi (Mike) Koza, and Thomas (Leslie) Lichtenberger, as well as four granddaughters, Jennifer (Carl) and Samantha (Matt), Daria, and Sydni. Four great-grandchildren, Jesse, Cameron, Alina and Everly, his niece, Donna (Tim) Slabbinck and nephew, Ron (Kelli) Schaefer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, his mother, Theresa and sister, Katie Schaefer.
Tom was born in Csátalja, Hungary on September 5, 1935. His childhood in Hungary and Germany instilled a lifelong passion for sports that included soccer, hockey, bowling and golfing. Along with his family, he immigrated to Michigan in 1952 where he became a member of the Carpathia Kickers and a graduate of Wilber Wright Vocational School. He loved the USA and served in the Army National Guard and later retiring from Chevy Engineering/General Motors Corporation after 33 years of dedicated service. He loved his family, country, Red Wings, home in Clinton Township and passing time by walking or watching sports.
The visitation will be held on Friday, from 1:00PM until the prayer service at 4:30PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral. Entombment will be held on Saturday 11:00AM at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. All friends and family are welcome.
The family asks that donations to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) or to the Absolute Home Health and Hospice, 9463 Holly Road, Ste. 103, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439, be made instead of flowers or other gifts.
