Timothy Pieczynski, 66, passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and a soundtrack that never really stopped playing. He had a deep love for music—whether it was blasting through the speakers or just humming along, it was always part of who he was.
Tim was born June 24, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to Norbert and Dorothy Pieczynski.
He dedicated 34 years of hard work and pride to his career with Brandenburg Industrial Services, where he served as a demolition superintendent. He built not only structures’ endings, but lasting relationships and a reputation for doing things the right way.
A lifelong Chicago Bears fan and devoted Chicago Cubs supporter, he stuck with his teams through the highs, the lows, and everything in between—often with a sense of humor that made even the toughest seasons bearable. When he wasn’t cheering them on, you could find him fishing, traveling, or, most importantly, spending time with his grandkids, who brought him endless joy.
He shared a deep and enduring love with his beloved wife, Karen, who was his partner in life, laughter, and all the adventures in between.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, easygoing nature, and ability to make people laugh when they needed it most. Life around him was never too serious—and he wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Tim is survived by his loving wife Karen Pieczynski, his children Karyn Pieczynski, Laura (Alex) McWaters, and Matthew (Emily) Pieczynski, his stepchildren Erin (Ken) Buddie and Frank Seidita, and his grandchildren, Aryana, Logan, Jacquelyn, Zoey, Gabriella, Vincent, Christopher, Madison, Reagan, and Reese.
He also leaves his siblings; sisters Jackie (Bill) Scholp and Sue Pieczynski, and brother Kevin (Linda) Pieczynski, and siblings-in-law, Christina (Dan) Marsee, Michele (Jim) Babbish, Dante (Melisa) Williams, Daniel (Kimmie) Williams and Denise Harnishfeger-Sedgwick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Norbert Pieczynski, and his beloved brother-in-law, Kevin “Cubby” Sedgwick.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where stories, laughter, and likely a little music will be shared in his honor.
