William “Bill” A. Nagle, age 72, passed away on January 6, 2026. He was born on November 4, 1953, in Hamtramck, Michigan, to the late Zigmund Nagle and Mary (Plankert) Nagle. Bill was raised in Warren, Michigan, and proudly graduated from Center Line High School in 1972.
Bill met the love of his life, Debbie, and they were married on August 3, 1974, at St. Rene Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was a devoted and loving husband, a proud father, and a true family man.
A licensed builder and self-employed contractor, Bill was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Bill enjoyed camping, spending time in his garage, wintering in Florida, and making memories with family and friends. He loved trips to Alpena, where he proudly spoke at S.M.M.A.R.T. Honor Guard trainings. He also enjoyed visiting the Hazel Park Racetrack and local casinos—mostly to people-watch rather than gamble.
After the heartbreaking loss of his daughter Jessica, a Hazel Park Police Officer killed in the line of duty in 2002, Bill found purpose in honoring her memory. He showed unwavering support for law enforcement through his involvement with MI COPS and by pinning blue ribbons at the funerals of fallen officers. This work brought him comfort and kept Jessica close to his heart.
Bill loved warm weather, good conversation, and making people laugh. He was especially known for teasing his grandchildren—many would say if Bill wasn’t teasing you, he probably didn’t like you.
Bill was the beloved husband of Debbie; loving father of Rob (Brooke) Nagle and Amanda Litnianski; and cherished father of the late Jessica (Matt) Nagle-Wilson. He was the devoted grandfather of Katelyn Wallis, Payton Nagle, Sydney Nagle, Dakota Litnianski, Isabella Litnianski, Jordan Litnianski, Kennedy Nagle, and Lincoln Nagle; and great-grandfather of Lillian, Vivian, and Delaney Brewer. Bill is also survived by his loving companion, Lucky, and would often say he didn’t know who rescued who—a bond that brought him great comfort and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Patricia and Thurman Russell, and his sister, Diane Turkiela. Bill is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donna (the late Ron) Laviolette, Gary (Sandy) Russell, and the late Barry and Larry Russell, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12½ Mile Road).
Memorial donations in Bill’s memory are appreciated to the family.
