Born in Warren, a son of the late Nicholas and Bella (Botelho) Massa, he was a lifelong resident of the town.
A Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict, he was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #4487 in Middletown and the American Legion. Gene was a rubber worker in the manufacturing industry and also worked as a quahogger for many years before retiring.
He is survived by: one daughter, Christine Massa of Bristol; his best friend Catherine (Pojidaeff) Massa and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late David Massa and brother of the late Nicholas Massa.
A Graveside Burial with Military Honors will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10am in St. Jean Bapiste Cemetery in Warren.
