Born in Fall River, MA son of the late Domenic J., Sr. and Sadie (Testa) D’Alessio, he was a life-long resident of Bristol.
Domenic was especially close with his cousins Paul Donato and Pat D’Alessio of Bristol. He also leaves behind his aunts, Theresa Morra of Bristol and Dora Iozzi of Cranston and several cousins.
He is survived by his two canine companions, Lupo & Brody, which he loved and cared for as if they were his children.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970 and later earned his GED from the Bristol County Adult School in 1981.
Domenic worked for the RI Veterans Home as a MEO driver for 29 years starting in 1970, retiring in 1999. He also worked at Bristol Fire & Rescue from 1972-1988, was Past Captain Rescue EMT 1, and Driver Engine 1.
He played Bartone in the Royal Lancers Marching Band and also in the Generations Drum & Bugle Marching Band both in Bristol.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State St, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence. For tributes, www.wilbur-romano.com
