Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Eva (Howard) Chase.
Doris was a registered nurse for many years, retiring at the age of 80. She was a very active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Riverside, where she was also the organist for over twenty years.
Survivors include: four children, Bethany Johnson and her husband Gunnar, Bruce Allen, Dean Allen, and Robert Allen, all of Riverside; one grandson, David Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Lester C., David L., and Neil V. Allen and sister of the late Curtis and Brett Chase.
Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, her visitation, funeral service and burial will be private for immediate family. A public memorial service will be held at her church at a later time.
