My deepest condolences to the Alexandrou family.  I was student of his at St. Sophia and greatly appreciated his warmth, enthusiasm, and knowledge of Greek language and culture.  He will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathies to the Alexandrou family.  I was out of town the past several weeks and was surprised and sad to learn of Mister Alexandrou's passsing.  I've taken Greek language classes from Mr. Alexandrou the last couple of years and greatly appreciated his warmth, enthusiasm, and extensive knowledge of Greek culture, language and history. This past October I traveled to Greece and made sure to visit Rhodes, a place that was dear to Mr. Alexandrou and of which he spoke about in class.  Am grateful that I had a chance to stop by and see him in November to tell him about my trip to Greece and Rhodes and express my continuing interest in the language classes.  He was a man who deeply appreciated his family, friends and students.  He will be greatly missed. Dominique

Dear Milia, Andreas, Ioannis, Phaedra, and Family,

Yesterday's Funeral and Makaria was comparable to that of Arthur Lalos.  both were ardent champions of Orthodoxy, Hellenic Culture and Civilization, and Humanism.
Alexandros was a quintessential example for us to follow.  He put the benefit of others ahead of himself.  In the projects that I worked with him to promote: St. Sophia, St. George, fund raisers for Greece and the permanent establishment of a Hellenic Chair at both American and Georgetown Universities he was a devoted, tireless, and energetic worker.  His optimism always permeated his world view.  

He was and will be a role model for me.

As I write this I can see his smiling face in my mind's eye.

May his memory be eternal.

My sincere condolences to the entire Alexandrou Family. Unfortunately, I was unable to be at the wake or funeral due to illness, but you have been in my thoughts and prayers. Mr. Alexandrou was a very kind, very knowledgeable and wonderful person and educator. I can remember from when I was a child of his dedication to the Greek Community and he was an excellent role model for all of us Greek educators. May he rest in peace and may his family find strength from the Holy Days ahead to remember him for the brilliant and caring person that he was. Dear Milia and Family,

You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband, father, and papou. He had such great pride of all of you.

It was a total shock to learn of his passing.  Quite recently I saw him and he appeared to be in excellent health.  As always he was laughing, smiling, and joking.  He always had a great attitude.  The truth is I don't ever remember him seeing him angry or upset.
It was an honor to know him and to work with him in the church and Ahepa.

Dear Milia and family, we were so sorry to hear about Alex passing away. It came as a shock and he will truly be missed. He was a wonderful human being, always smiling and so energetic. We were with all of you on Thanksgiving and Alex was telling us stories and making us laugh. May his memory be eternal. 

With our deepest sympathy. We love you all very much. God be with you during these difficult times ahead.

Our thoughts are with Milia, the kids and the little ones who lost their dear Papou. Mister Alexandrou, as we called him with respect, first guided me through the complexity of the Greek language at his Ste Sophia Saturday class. He was a true gentleman, always smiling and supportive of our efforts. He became a friend, and when I was looking for a Greek teacher for our 3 sons, it was natural to think of him. Although he had taught only to adults until that point, he accepted to become their "Greek mentor". He was a wonderful teacher, mixing the wonders of Greek culture, history and religion with the teaching of the language, making it a fun and interesting experience. He was like a grand father to them, especially for Philippos, who had very few memories of his own deceased Greek Papou. He was so patient with these active boys/teens, taking the time to discuss with them about life.  Even after moving to Montreal, we stayed in touch, happy to see him become a  true Papou. We will miss him dearly. Martine, Vassili, Yorgos, Yannis and Philippos Papadopoulos from Montreal.

I am very sorry to hear about Alex's passing. 
He was my dear friend through his son Andreas. 
I have lots of fond memories of him from events & gatherings we attended together to attending Saint George church and listening to Father Dimitrios and having coffee afterward. You will be missed.
