I....I can't believe that she is gone. I wanted to wish her a happy birthday (we were longtime internet friends), but realized I hadn't heard from her for a while.

I am so saddened to learn of her death. Catherine was a sweet, genuine woman with a great heart. I can easily say that I loved this woman despite never meeting her. Even though we lost touch, I still kept her in my thoughts.

RIP sweet angel. I love you.

My Love, how do I even begin to describe someone as phenomenal as you. There are so many words from which I can choose. Loving, nurturing, vibrant, funny, witty, strong, and kind are the ones that seem to come to mind. Your smile could light up a dark room. My love, my dear friend, my adopted big sister. You were simply the best. You gave wonderful advice and answered my calls and texts any time you could. It didn't matter if it was late at night or early in the morning. You filled my life with lots of joy and laughter. You're by far the most selfless person I've ever met. I have the greatest respect and admiration for you. Even in your times of weakness you found strength to persevere and carry on. My love you were the definition of tenacity, courage, wisdom, love and grace. Whenever I think about you a soft smile comes to my face. I'll cherish you and the advice and unconditional love that you gave and showed me forever. You've made a tremendous impact on my life. And for that I'm eternally grateful. My dearest Catherine I love you to the moon and back and that's a fact. I'll always make sure to carry on your legacy proudly. You were remarkable. Just the best. May you watch over us my sweet angel. Love you loads big sis. Rest In Peace.

Catherine was like my little sister. We laughed and drove each other crazy. We learned from each other and fought hard to keep our friendship, no matter what. I have never known someone so beautifully open to life and love. 

I will never forget a single thing about her beautiful soul. I will love her and hold close those whom she loved, always.

She recently mentioned a part of a poem she loved. 'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, was never spoken of the soul.' 

I look forward to seeing her again some day and am comforted to know she walks free of pain, with her uncle and those whom she missed, on the other side.

I would like to send my dearest sympathy to the Augustin family and to Abiel.  I am so glad I was able to visit Cat last year, while in Georgetown University Hospital. Although I hadn't seen her in many years, when I visited her it was like yesterday. We both shared the compassion of nursing. Cat fought a good fight.
