Dorothy Caroline Beltz

Dorothy C. Beltz died peacefully in Gaithersburg, MD on June 24, 2025, a month short of her 105th birthday. She was born in Washington, DC and lived in her family home for the next 80 years. After earning her RN from Sibley Hospital and a BS from Catholic University, she served in the Army Nursing Corps during WWII. She went on to enjoy a 40-year career in community nursing for the DC Department of Public Health.

Dorothy was a strong, independent woman who was dedicated to giving to the community. She was a lifelong member of Albright United Methodist church before joining Foundry United Methodist Church in DC in 1989. She moved to Asbury Methodist Village in 2000 and became an active member of the Asbury Guild while living on her own until age 101.

She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Josephine Foster Beltz and her sister, Jean Beltz Barss.

At Dorothy's request there will be no services.
