IN THE CARE OF

DeVol Funeral Home

Janice Lambert Williams, 72, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at the Knollwood Community in Washington, DC. Janice was born in Albemarle, North Carolina, the youngest of three children of Lonnie and Mary Lambert. She was known for her outgoing personality, her warm smile, and her ability to make people feel comfortable and welcome wherever she was.

In her earlier years, Janice was free-spirited and enjoyed spending time outdoors with friends, always following her own path and embracing life with a sense of joy. She later met the love of her life, Don, and they were married on January 5, 1979. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and shared experiences.

Janice and Don built a loving family together, raising their two children, Laura and Brian. Janice worked with children at a local elementary school before choosing to dedicate herself fully to her role as a stay-at-home mother, creating a warm and caring home for her family. Janice was a Christian and found comfort and peace in reading the Bible.

Family meant everything to Janice. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and some of her happiest moments were spent with those she loved most — especially her beloved grandson, Colin, who brought her great pride and joy. For 47 years, she shared a loving and devoted marriage with her husband, Don. Their life together was built on deep love, loyalty, and companionship, and those who knew them could see the deep bond they shared.

Janice enjoyed playing tennis with friends, golfing with her husband, and spending time at home playing games and sharing laughter with her family. She also had a special affection for her dog, Lucy, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Janice is survived by her loving husband, Don; her children, Laura and Brian; and her grandson, Colin. She will be deeply missed by her family and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Those who knew Janice will remember her warm smile, kind spirit, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held on March 9, 2026, at Rock Creek Park Cemetery in Washington, DC.
