Jack was somewhat prickly but still a great friend to Swan's Island.  He brought the IMI to the island for some ten years.  Their presence brought jobs, education and culture to the island.  It was great while it lasted.  
The first time I met him, I was surprised that I hadn't met him before.  There are only 350 year-round people on island and just so many "summer people."  When I tried to ask him about himself he told me it was none of my business.  I thought that was funny at the time.  He was seldom seen but I am sure he enjoyed every minute looking out his windows onto Burnt Coat Harbor.
