
Milton is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Kathleen. He is also survived by three children, Kenneth Sager (Ann), Teresa Sager, and Marilla Thompson (Russ); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, Timothy, James and Joseph. Milton was a great father and dedicated husband.
Milton, a true patriot, proudly served in the United States Navy and the Marine Corps reserve during World War II. He flew PBY's as a submarine chaser off the coast of the United States and South America. He worked for U.S. Geological Survey, the Army Map Service and the Aeronautical Charts and Information Center. He retired from the government.
He was an avid cyclist and member of the Potomac Pedalers Bicycle Club. He enjoyed camping and hiking and spent many summers on the beaches of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Milton and Kathleen had a special love of the outdoors especially Skyline Drive where they spent many anniversaries.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at Joseph Gawler's Sons, 5130 Wisconsin Ave. NW Washington DC 20016 on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Parish, 2900 Olney Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD 20832. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
