On December 7, 2014 "Sandy" Slavin of Bethesda, MD. Beloved husband of Doris; devoted father of Jeffrey Z. Slavin of Chevy Chase, MD, Roni Slavin Pekins and husband Peter Pekins of Durham, NH. Grandfather of Anna Pekins of Saratoga Springs, NY and Ryan Pekins of Bozeman, MT. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Preceded in death by his parents Jacob Zelich and Irene Mutnick Slavin; two sisters, Bernice Gordon and Felice Joseph and one brother Benjamin Slavin. A Service will be held at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb Street NW, Washington, DC on Wednesday, December 10, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at King David Memorial Gardens. Family will be sitting Shiva at the home of Sandy and Doris on Wednesday, December 10 and Thursday, December 11 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers or food, memorial contributions requested to Montgomery Housing Partnership, Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington/Camp JCC or Montgomery College Foundation for the Students of the Gudelsky Institute.
