This was Stephen in late October/early November 2013. We had only been dating five months, and he was on travel overseas. It did not even say where this was. He was only 77 then and so handsome -- no wonder I fell for him. 
It is now August 2024 and he has been gone a little over four years. If it's possible, I love him even more today and always will. Your Empress will always love and miss you. 💕

This was 19 November 2019. Here is what I said when I posted this photo: Had a visitor today bearing gifts from his trip last week to Saudi Arabia. Took me to lunch at the Bonefish Grill near here which was fun. Had a very enjoyable day. 🥰 He loved spoiling me. I miss him every day.

This was my happy Etienne back in 2016.  Found a photo from August 2016 taken at our hotel in Shepherdstown, WV. We had gone up to take measurements at the new house so we could begin buying furniture, linens, kitchen items. Things have changed so much in four years. This was a very happy time for us. Great memories. ❤


This photo was the first I ever took of you.  It was 3 July 2013. We had just started dating in June and you asked me up to your place in Rockville for the holiday. The next day, we rode the Metro into DC to a pot luck at your friend’s home. Marilyn had a rooftop garden and we watched the fireworks on the Potomac from there. This country girl was impressed from the start. Miss you, baby. It will never be the same. 💔

My sweet man. Your smile always told me how much you loved me. This was us eating breakfast in NYC before our lovely day at MoMA. I  miss I you so..

This is my baby when we first got the convertible. We loved that car. He had it special ordered. He sometimes called me, "My Empress." And he referred to this as, "The Empress's carriage." He so loved me, and I loved him. Miss you, sweet man. 

This is what took you from me. I do all I can for this organization and others with this dreaded disease.  It took you from me too soon. I will always love you. 

My darling Etienne. You were taken from me, from our life and plans, two years ago today. Pancreatic cancer which came on quickly, and we did not get a chance to be together as long as we needed. So many bad things have happened since that I am still struggling here without you. Sharing a photo of us with Ella and Aiden on our first trip to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in Framingham in September 2013. We thought we had forever. I love you even more now than then, and I hold out hope that we will be together again one day. Always your Empress. 

Today should be your 86th birthday. I miss you every minute and know we would be celebrating if you were here. I am still so lost without you. Love you, baby. Miss you more. 

Happy Valentine's Day, baby. This was February 2020 -- we were together in Rockville (as usual) and on our way out to lunch. That smile still melts my heart.  Love you more each day, if that is even possible. 

We did not know that this would be our last Christmas. This was 25 December 2019 in Rockville at Stephen's home. We were on our way to a huge buffet. Merry Christmas, baby -- my second alone and it hurts the same. Miss you every minute. Love you even more. 

It has been seventeen months today since you left me, and no day is easier than the first day.  I miss you every second of every day and still feel lost. This is from our carriage ride in Central Park back in April 2018. We spent five lovely days in NYC -- eating, sightseeing, opera, museums, loving each other. You always treated me so special.  I love you more all the time. You will always be my Etienne and I will always be yours. 

Please bear with me today. Fifteen months since this awesome man left me and some days, it is still hard to even breathe. Tears come and I see this photo, us out at a restaurant (Ruth’s Chris here in Odenton), and I remember the sweetness he brought to me. He told me that he HAD to come be with me because he was leaving on a trip and would not see me for ten days. Miss you, baby - every minute of every day. 💔

One year ago, you were taken from me. It was the worst thing to ever happen to me -- plans, trips, experiencing life together -- all gone. The pain has not lessened. I live each day remembering you and all we had for so many years.  I not only lost my lover, I lost my very best friend. Not having you to talk to, to laugh with, to hold - is pain that dos not leave. I am doing my best to "live your life to the fullest."  This what you told me on the tape we made together on the Sunday before you left me. The same  Sunday you asked me to marry you. I love you and miss you more than words can ever say. You were thee best man I ever knew.  Je t’aime my Etienne.

Just texted me an hour ago to say that, "I had so much Peking duck for dinner that I am quacking on the way to bed." LOL He can be very funny at times. Happy Birthday, my Etienne. You should be celebrating your 85th birthday today. I love you and miss you so much. We had a wonderful time celebrating on this day last year. I will never forget the love and joy you brought to my life. Your will always be in my heart and soul

Wanted to share what I feel is the best photo ever taken of my sweetie. This was taken when he was President of the Board of Directors at Arundel Lodge in Annapolis. He was ever so proud of that position. Dr. Stephen Gabriel Kent, MD -- the love of my life. 

Wanted to share a memory of Stephen and I taking his son David Kent out for his birthday.   This was at the Outback in Annapolis on 17 January 2020. David went many places with his father, and we also took him out with us when we went. He was David's best friend. We miss you, sweet man, and we always will.  We love you so much. 

You will always be in my heart and soul.  Seven years of love was not nearly enough.
