

September 20, due to a short battle with cancer. Anita was born on
November 10th, 1944 in Manhattan New York to John and Lena Chiesa. Anita
Attended Cathedral High School in Manhattan NY. Her family later moved to
The Bronx where she attended Bronx Community College and received her
Associates degree in finance. On February 15th, 1969 she married her
Beloved husband, Aurelio Occhi. They resided in the Bronx and had one
Daughter (Caroline Occhi-Sorce) in 1971. She and her family then moved to
Suffern, NY in 1977 where they lived for 25 years. In 2000, Anita and her
Husband Aurelio decided to move to Washingtonville, NY where they felt closer
to the mountains. Anita was a devoted wife, mother and hard worker. She
Worked multiple jobs throughout her life. She worked at Mahwah Honda as an
Assistant controller, a law firm, Willcare (a visiting nurse service), and lastly,
as a volunteer “grandma” in the New Windsor School. Ms. Anita was loved by
both students and staff and known for her gregarious personality and love of
Children. Anita especially enjoyed spending time with her precious
Grandchildren. She loved to spoil them with trips to Bermuda, NYC Broadway
shows, trips to Italy, and cruises. Her grandchildren were her world and she
lived for their happiness. Anita is predeceased by her husband, Aurelio
Occhi, parents John and Lena Chiesa, brother in laws Primo Occhi and Gianni
Occhi and in-laws Giuseppe and Anna Occhi. She leaves behind a daughter
Caroline Occhi-Sorce, two grandchildren, (Michael and Christina Sorce),
son-in-law, Joseph Ausanio, her brother Gerard Chiesa and wife Valerie
Chiesa, sister in law Mariella Ronconi and her husband Franco Ronconi, Sister
in laws Irma Occhi and Piadina Occhi, multiple nieces and nephews including
John Gerard Chiesa, John Franco Ronconi and his family, Carla O’Mahoney and
her family, Arthur and Denise Occhi and their family, Nelianna Occhi and her
family and lastly, Fabio Occhi and his family. Services will be held at David T.
Ferguson Home on 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. Calling hours will be
on Thursday Sept. 23, 2021 from 6-8pm. Interment will be private. Any donations can be made
