Carmela Lombardo 83, of Washingtonville, NY, passed away on February 20, 2018. Carmela was born in Sicily, Italy on March 14, 1934 to Giuseppe and Maria (LoCastro) Carrara. Beloved wife of the late Sebastiano Lombardo. Survived by her loving and devoted daughter Piera and her husband Joseph Wroblewski, cherished Nonna (Grandmother) of Linda and David Blaich and Lauren Wroblewski and her Fiancé Bradley Thompson, loving Nonna (Great-Gandmother) to Jaxson and Charlotte Blaich. Predeceased by her two brothers, Salvatore and Antonio Carrara. Carmela had lead a full life. She worked as a seamstress till retirement. She was devoted and loving to her family and friends. She was a rock and a moral compass for the family and a great friend to those who knew her. She enjoyed her grandchildren and even more, her great grandchildren. She had a magic touch whether it was sewing, cooking, baking, knitting or crocheting. Many of those cookies she made could never be duplicated. When she found time she enjoyed going to the casinos and spending time with her friends. She will be truly missed very much by all. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23rd, from 3pm-7pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 9:30am at St. Mary’s Church, 42 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville, NY followed by entombment at Cedar Hill Mausoleum, 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY.
