

James J. Robertson, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on December 31, 2024, in Newburgh, NY, at the age of 74. He was born on January 16, 1950, in Yonkers, NY, to James J. Robertson and Nora McHugh.
Jim is survived by his children, Christine Goldner (Steve), Brian Robertson (Jennifer), PJ Robertson, and Rachael Robertson, along with his cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Joshua, Colin, Sean, and Devin. He is also survived by his siblings Patricia Troy, Maureen Houlihan, Clare Dwyer, and Dennis Robertson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, John Robertson and Edward Robertson.
Proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976, Jim went on to have a long and fulfilling career as a conductor for Metro-North Railroad, retiring after 40 years of dedicated service at the Croton-Harmon station.
Jim was known for his warm heart and willingness to help others. He was always the first to lend a hand to a friend in need. Though he didn’t have much of a green thumb, he found joy in gardening. He had a passion for trains and enjoyed sharing that enthusiasm with others. A man of great energy and spirit, Jim was the life of every party, and he took great pleasure in spending time with his family and friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:30 pm at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY 10992. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, joy, and devotion to his loved ones will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
