The DeRogatis Family regrets to announce that Paul E. DeRogatis Jr. passed away Monday, October 7th, 2019, in White Plains New York. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved husband , father and Grandfather. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful for the time God gave us. Paul was born in Brooklyn, November 5th, 1948. He was the son of Paul E. DeRogatis Sr. and Rose Defeo DeRogatis, and the Grandson of Mathew and Josephine Defeo. He is survived by his wife Barbara R. Sulin DeRogatis, his children, Nickolaus Paul DeRogatis, Christina Marie DeRogatis Vitarella, (Mario Vitarella), Lisa Marie Herman, and his Grandchildren, Lilah Rose Vitarella, Lorenzo Paul Vitarella, Joseph B. Wensdofer and Jack T. Wensdorfer.
There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family. Paul, in his early years was also a singer. He sang with various groups in the 60’s. Paul was also credited with several recordings on Wand and Roulette Records. Sadly his singing career was interrupted when he was called to duty by the United States Military draft to fight in the Vietnam War/Conflict in 1968. During his service he was injured in a mortar fire attack on his base. It was there that Paul earned his Purple Heart as well as other commendations. He was wounded during the Tet Counteroffensive in 1968. He was proud to serve his country just as his father did before him in WWII.
He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and loved living in the mountains of Orange County New York.
He was The Light Of Love
RIP My Beloved, Until we meet again
