Sarah "Sallie" Merritt

Sallie graduated from Washingtonville High School in 1976. She spent most of her career in the service industry, along with becoming a painting contractor. Sallie loved to dance; it was her happy place. She loved all animals, and had a great love of music, continuing to play the clarinet. She was also a raging Rolling Stones fan.

Sallie is survived by her siblings Mary Ellen Rogulski (Tony), Stephen Merritt (Barbara), Lorraine Butler, and Peggy Sanford (Robert). She is also survived by nieces and nephews Jillian Campbell, Michael Merritt, Stephen Merritt, James and Matthew Rogulski, Eric Butler, Brianna Paesano, Baker Paesano and Ashley and Brittany Sanford.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 3-6PM at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 5:45 PM concluding the visitation on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Sallie’s honor to: Blooming Grove Humane Society 2741 Route 94 Washingtonville, NY 10992.
