peacefully at her home on October 19, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on December 17,
1951, in the Bronx, Susan moved to Washingtonville 40 years ago, where she built a
life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Susan was a funny, fierce, and strong independent woman who was devoted to her
family and known for her free spirit. Her greatest joy was spending time with her
beloved grandchildren, whom she affectionately called her "Babies."
Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Russell A. Leiter, and her two
loving daughters, Samantha Mangiaracina and her husband Gary, and Diana Lucas
and her husband Tommy. She is also survived by her siblings, Frank Blau and his
wife Mary Ann, and Marian Blau. Her memory will be cherished by her adored
grandchildren: Gary (Emma), Mark, Russell, Derek (Danielle), Thomas, and Eleanor.
A private memorial service for Susan will be held in the near future, allowing her
close family to gather and celebrate her life in an intimate setting.
In honor of Susan make sure you dance a little harder, hug a little tighter, and tip a
little bigger.
