William Estela of Campbell Hall, NY entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2020 at home after a long battle with cancer surrounded by his wife Blanca Elena, children, many dear family members and friends. He was 83 years old. The son of the late Luis Estela and Eulalia Rodriguez.
William was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on August 30, 1936. William was married to his loving wife Blanca Elena Mendoza-Estela. William was a retired Chef from Jewish Home and Hospital for the aged for 40 years. William graduated from City College and received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Sociology. He was an avid reader, black belt in karate, loved to play the guitar, gardening, nature and music. One of his favorites Frank Sinatra, “My Way” and he loved two loving dogs Princess and Suzzy.
William was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his loving wife Blanca Elena Mendoza-Estela, his children: Wilma and husband Fernando Vayona of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Liccette and husband Melido of Brooklyn, NY, Jeanette and husband Elias of Bronx, NY, Jacquelin Estela of Cabo Rojo, P.R., Angelo Baque of Queens, NY, and Ingrid Baque of Blooming Grove, NY. His Brothers Julio Estela and wife Minerva of Aguada, P.R. , Valentine Estela of Aguada, P.R. , Luis Estela and wife Jessica of Hialeah, FL, his Sisters Luz Maria Santana of Brooklyn, NY, Aida Santos of Brooklyn, NY, pre-deceased by Gilbert, Luis, Ines and Lydia.
His grandchildren Jorrell, Matthew, Natalina, Gritchel, Mark, Elisha, Eliezel, David, James, Edwin, Robert Jr, Lisa, Jelitza(deceased) , Karina, Gio Maximus and Caesar. Along with many nieces and nephews. Sister-in-laws: Maria Moreira and husband Manuel, Beatriz Mendoza, Brother-in-laws: Galo Mendoza and wife Blanquita, Jorge Mendoza and wife Ileana, Jose Mendoza and wife Ingrid.
Visitation will be Thursday 7/23/2020 2-4 & 6-9pm at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY.
