

Winslow – David York, 55, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2013. He was born in Waterville on February 2, 1957 a son of Robert and Mary York. David attended Winslow High School and Graduated from Thomas College with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
David was involved in his community in many ways. He was a 19 year member of the Elks Lodge and was chairman of their chicken BBQ for many years; he was a Mason, as well as being involved in many charitable events and projects throughout the community. David was an active athlete in high school loving all sports but lettering in Varsity Football at Winslow High. He always enjoyed hunting, skiing, playing cards, and watching NASCAR and routing for his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. David’s family will always remember his fishing trips with his father, Robert, David’s successful moose hunt in 2002 and how he always was a kid at heart as he enjoyed spending time and playing with his nephews and the other children in his family.
David is survived by his parents Robert and Mary (Guiski) York of Florida and Maine; brother's Steven and wife Lani York of Arundel, Maine, and James and Marjorie York of Winslow; Aunt Helen Doyon, Uncle Ed and Janet Guiski, nephew Don Perkins and his children Mason and Cole and several special God Children.
David was predeceased by his grandparents Clyde and Louise York and Vincent and Mary Guiski; Aunt Stella Raymond & Uncle Wayne Doyon.
David was predeceased by few, missed by many, and loved by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John’s Catholic Church in Winslow on Friday January 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Committal will be held in the spring time at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville.
