

James “Jim” Robert Tardiff, 71, of Waterville, passed away at Glenridge Nursing Home on December 4, 2013 with his loving wife at his side. He was born in Waterville, ME on November 18, 1942 a son of the late William and Ora (Bouchard) Tardiff.
Jim graduated from Lawrence Hish School in Fairfield with the class of 1961 and married the love of his life Jackie Bourgoin on May 2, 1964. Jim worked for the Maine Central Railroad for 25 years until he and Jackie opened Western Avenue Market in Waterville which they ran for 16 years together. Jim will be remembered by his family and friends as man who could build or fix anything and was known for telling the best stories. Jackie would like to acknowledge and thank all of the many friends that Jim made over the years in the Waterville area for their love and support as well as Glenridge Nursing Home for the care taken of Jim through these difficult times.
Jim is survived by his wife Jackie of 49 years, two daughters Lisa and Greg Markowski of Florida, Brenda Glidden and husband Kelton of Palermo, a brother Richard Tardiff and wife Shirley, sisters Shirley Buzzell and Sharon Marion. He also leaves four grandchildren Danielle Wilde, Amy Gatie, Cody Glidden and Tyson Glidden and great grandchildren Mariah, Levi, James and Madyson and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased his parents, brothers Raymond, John, and Daniel and sisters Patricia Hopkins and Joan Poirier.
