Lawrence Dumont

He was raised and educated in Waterville and Winslow schools and joined the U.S. Air Force following high school graduation. He served his country during the Korean War. He then attended Boston University and University of Maine at Orono.

He married his lovely sweetheart, Carmen Marie Beal, in 1955, and resided in Boston, NY while working for Bethlehem Steel Co. In 1959 he became employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co as a field agent for over 20 years and resided in Winslow. He then worked for LaVerdiere’s Drug Stores in Madison and Waterville and retired in 1993.

Larry was predeceased by his wife Carmen, his parents, his son Paul, his brother Carlton and his sister Priscilla. He is survived by his daughter Susan Bourgoin and husband Gregory of Tampa FL, his daughter Lori Ruby and husband Scott of Durham, ME, his son David and long time girlfriend Carol Dearborn of Portland, ME, his grandchildren Tom and Ryan Bourgoin, Kristen (Ruby) Balogh and Margo Ruby, and Courtney Gladu, and great grandchildren Roman Balogh and Kahlan Bourgoin. They always brought a smile to his face.

At Larry’s request there will be no visiting hours. A Funeral service will be celebrated at Veilleux and Redington Funeral Home on Saturday, March 12 from 12-2 pm. Burial will be at St Francis Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
