

Leona D. Breton (Lee), 85, formerly of Waterville, passed away peacefully at home in Sebago on February 7, 2014 of natural causes. Leona, daughter of George and Alexina (Cabana) Dutil, was born on July 7, 1928 in Fairfield. She graduated from Lawrence High School and went to work at Hathaway Shirt Company as a seamstress for many years. She then worked as a legal secretary for 28 years at the law firm of Jolivitz and Niehoff. As an accomplished seamstress she made her own clothing for work, her children’s clothing, and did alterations for local specialty clothing stores.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved cooking, arts and crafts, and sewing, but her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren. She wintered in Florida for 17 years, recently settling in Sebago with her daughter and son-in-law.
Leona is survived by her daughter Marcella, and her husband Robert Laliberte of Sebago, as well as her son Bruce, of Nashua, NH, grandson, Kris Laliberte, granddaughter Amy and husband Michael Casella. She is also survived by brother George Dutil and wife Delia, sisters, Anita and husband John Beaulieux, Lucille and husband Wilbur Vickery.
Besides her parents, Leona was predeceased by her beloved husband Reginald of 48 years, sisters, Carmen Vickery, Juliette Marquis and brother, Robert Dutil.
Visiting hours will be 9-10:30 AM on Saturday, February 15th at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville followed by a mass of christian burial at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 70 Pleasant Street, Waterville. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
