North Vassalboro—Lucille Marie-Blanche Breton, 73, passed away early Friday morning, February 19, 2010 at Thayer unit, Maine General Medical Center following a long illness.
She was born in Waterville, Maine on December 8, 1936, the youngest child of Joseph P. Poulin and Emilia Shank.
She grew up in Waterville, where she later met and married her sweetheart, Jean Paul Breton on June 11, 1955. They were married for 42 years before his death on January 20, 1998. In 1967, she moved with Jean and their five children to North Vassalboro, where she currently lived up to the time of her death. She was a very active member of St. Bridget’s—Corpus Christi Parish. She was the current organist there for the past 30 years, playing music at mass just this past Saturday. She had a special gift from God through her hands. Not only did she play the organ, she also played the piano, guitar and harmonica. She loved to cook and bake, especially around the holidays when she would make her famous tourtiere pies. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and making crafts. She looked forward to spending time with her sisters on Sunday afternoons.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jean, one sister Gertrude and two brothers, Adrian and Alfred.
Lucille is survived by her five children, Raymond and his two children Joshua and Isaac; Richard and his son Anthony; Donald and his wife Lisa and their two children Justin and Jessica all of Vassalboro; Yvette and her husband Paul LaChance and their children Nicole, Ryan, Nikki and Lindsey all of Winslow; Paul and his daughter Amy of Freeport; two sisters, Sister Yvette Poulin, a Sister of St. Joseph, Theresa and her husband Frederick Cote, all of Waterville; brother in-law Charles Breton, sister-in law Marie Hutchinson, both of Waterville; and sister-in-law Rita Breton of Canton, MA.; many nieces and nephews in the greater Waterville area and Massachusetts, and her loving dog Chin-Chin.
