

Waterville – Marie Seminary Willey, wife of the late Paul Wiley, and mother to Michael, Paula (Vestermark) and Thomas Wiley, died quietly and peacefully Thursday, February 2nd after a short illness, with family at her side.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Angela Seminary, Marie studied Spanish in night school and went to Lima, Peru, South America, in 1942 to work as a bilingual secretary for the U.S. Foreign Service. While in Lima she met and married Paul Willey and had the three children. After Paul’s retirement in 1980, they moved back to Waterville, Maine, where Marie Decided to complete a long standing goal of going to college and getting her degree. She graduated from Colby College three days before her 70th birthday with honors.
Also an accomplishing painter in her later years, she completed over 100 paintings. One of her paintings, her self-portrait, is pictured here.
Marie was a loving mother and will be missed greatly by her 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
