Jane was born in Montour Falls, NY on July 21st, 1941 to Dominick and Carmella (Romeo) Franzese and enjoyed her early years with her devoted parents, six brothers, four sisters-in-law, and one sister. The family grew with several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Memories of living in the beautiful Village of Watkins Glen with her family and number of aunts, uncles, and cousins were filled with joyful and blessed times. Jane was an active member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church and shared in the faith community during her childhood and high school years. Jane attended elementary and high school in Watkins Glen, NY and then went on to study Accounting and graduated from nearby Rochester Business Institute. Jane worked in her father’s business office for the D & T Franzese Bros., Inc. for a short time. Then Jane went on to prepare to become a religious education teacher in the Religious Teachers Filippini Community in Morristown, NJ. She continued with academic studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from St. Elizabeth College in Convent Station, NJ and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Jane was a very dedicated high school business teacher, office manager, and administrator in various Catholic High Schools in the Dioceses of Scranton, PA; Baltimore, MD; Paterson and Camden, NJ. Jane returned to Watkins Glen in 1980 to be a caregiver for her mother after her father’s passing in 1978. After the death of her mother, Jane continued to be a caregiver for the parents of her friend in Christ, Clare Bucci. In recent years, Jane enjoyed her retirement in The Villages, FL and became caregiver for Clare. Jane’s devoted life for others, especially for the young, and her 36 years as a caregiver-is a testimony of her faith and love for God and His people.
