Rosemary Depew

Rosemary was born on January 7, 1932 in Watkins Glen. The daughter of the late, Philip and Rose (Iuliana) Simiele.

She is survived by her special great niece Krista Green; sisters in laws, Carmela Simiele, Jane Simiele, and Julia Simiele of Watkins Glen and many wonderful, supportive nieces and nephews; and her loving feline companion, Lady Bird.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Frederick Depew on September 18, 2011; her four brothers, , Frank, Toney, Medio and Bill (William) Simiele and four sisters, Lucy Paradiso, Jennie Martine, Stella Hollenbeck, and Betty Green.

Rosemary married the love of her life, Frederick Depew on October 8, 1955. Rosemary was a homemaker, who enjoyed helping her sister Stella at Phil’s Tavern and her sister Jennie and brother Toney at the Garden Grill. Fred and Rosemary enjoyed several years of traveling together to many places especially Hawaii.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Salty Dog Rescue, 504 Magee St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891 or to the Restoration Fund at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, PO Box 289, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.

Friends and family may call from 9:30am to 11 am on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Link at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Paul Bonacci at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watkins Glen.
