Juanita May Kelly

Juanita May (Flewelling) Kelly passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 98. Juanita was born in Flint, Michigan, to Glen Flewelling and Wanda (Smith) Flewelling on October 11, 1927. Her early years were filled with extended family, which included her sister Verna Lee and brother Jack.

Juanita later moved to Detroit, where she graduated from Mackenzie High School in 1945. She met and married Patrick Kelly on July 9, 1949. She worked downtown at JL Hudson. Juanita was a dedicated worker for JL Hudson and later General Motors Fisher Body, from which she retired after 25 years.

She went on to have six children: Larry (Cheryl) Kelly of Haslet, TX, Kevin Kelly of Pinkney, MI, Gregg Kelly of Wayne, MI, Michele Kelly of San Antonio, TX, Cynthia (David) Vilmin of Bloomington, IL, and Patrick (Christine) Kelly of Westland, MI. Her family also included 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, and her son, Kevin. Juanita was the most loving and amazing mother, grandmother, and friend. She will leave a void on this earth that will be impossible to fill.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 34567 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184. Friends and family are invited to return to the funeral home on Friday, March 6, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm. Juanita will be laid to rest at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West.
