Marian Zetta Dart, born May 12, 1938, in Medford, Oregon to Hubert and Eva Gibson, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the age of 87. Marian was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love for her family and her remarkable determination touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Marian was the beloved mother of Cindy Porter, William "Billy" Porter, Robert "Bobby" (Gail) Porter, Tracy (Edward) Wheeler, and Jamie Porter. She was the proud grandmother of Crystal, the late Sean Michael Thomas, Danica, Nicole, Garrett, Sara, Robert Jr., Elijah, Jenna, Jesse, Ryan, and Gavin. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to many. Marian’s love for her family knew no bounds, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is also survived by her long-time partner, Larry Martin, and her dear sister, Myra Clampitt, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Marian was preceded in death by her children’s father Thomas Jay Porter and her second husband, Danny Dart, as well as her brothers Robert Gibson and John Evans.
A woman of fierce determination, Marian was actively involved in her children’s lives, never missing an opportunity to support them. She served on the PTA Board, volunteered for Little League, and organized countless candy fundraisers. In the 1970s, she proudly played a role in blocking a legislative effort that would have sent children to school year-round, a testament to her unwavering advocacy for her children’s well-being.
Marian was also a passionate bowler, spending countless hours at the bowling alley, where she often joked that she raised her youngest daughter in the bowling alley nursery. Her love of the sport was matched only by her dedication to her work as a Ward Clerk at Los Robles Hospital, where she was known for her kindness, professionalism, and caring spirit.
Marian’s strength, kindness, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that she will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, located at 34567 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184. Marian will be laid to rest at Inglewood Cemetery in California.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by love and the memories of a life well-lived.
