Wilma Ester Barnes was born on August 20, 1925, in Greenville, Michigan to William and Hilda Burdick. She was one of 3 children. She passed away peacefully in Westland, Michigan on March 25, 2014 at the age of 88.
Wilma was the beloved wife of Marvin Barnes for 19 years until he passed away in 1965. Loving mother of Sherry (the late George) Temple and Bradley (the late Wanda) Barnes. Dear grandma of Holly (Michael) Pearce, and Lee Schmeisser. Great-grandma of Emily Pearce, Tyler Pearce, Allison Pearce, Marcus Schmeisser and Robert Pierce III. Sister of Barbara (the late Harold) Spiece, and the late Erwin Burdick. Aunt of Larry (Connie) Spiece, Daniel Spiece and Susan (the late Jack) Cooper.
Wilma worked as a cashier for Detroit Diesel for 27 years until she retired. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family, especially at Christmas.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
