Anne Seaton, 49, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly in an automobile collision on Friday, April 23, 2021. She was born June 14, 1971, a daughter of Thomas and Lois Mehnert. Survivors include her parents; husband of 29 years, Scott Seaton; brother, Mark Mehnert; daughter and son in law, Christopher and Joscelyn Hodge; sons, Phillip Seaton, Samuel Seaton, and Daniel Seaton; and grandbaby due in December 2021.
Anne Seaton grew up in Annapolis, MD; St Louis, MO; and Jamaica, where she and her family served as missionaries. In 1989, she graduated from Broadneck High School as both an accomplished artist and volleyball player, earning a full scholarship to Towson University. She met her beloved husband, Scott Seaton, during college; they married on July 6, 1991. In 1993, she graduated from Towson University as Summa Cum Laude, after just learning she was pregnant with her first child Joscelyn (Seaton) Hodge. She was a faithful wife and mother, who supported her husband Scott in his Naval and UVA medical career. After moving to Waynesboro, VA, in 1999, she soon became an integral part of the Valley community. Her favorite commitments were supporting her children in their education at Grace Christian and Wilson High School, fundraising for the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra, worshiping Jesus Christ at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, hosting many gatherings at her home, working as an Account Manager for Avnet, and campaigning for local Republican candidates - her favorite win being her husband’s Board of Supervisors election in 2020.
You could search the world over, and you would still be hard-pressed to find someone with more life and love packed into one lifetime than Anne. The springs of life flowed from her heart like a bubbling brook, a vitality of life made even more conspicuous by its absence. Her undeniable passion to make everyone she met feel loved, welcomed, and served was the first and most apparent attribute anyone noticed about Anne. And above all, she loved and served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her laughter can be heard in Heaven forever.
A private viewing will be held on Thursday, April 29 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 618 West Main Street, Waynesboro, VA. A public funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 12pm at Turk Mountain Event Center, 1358 East Side Hwy, Waynesboro, VA. All are welcome. Please wear a mask and colorful dress apparel.
