Betty Jean (Lewis) Fitzgerald Wampler

Betty Jean (Lewis) Fitzgerald Wampler, 81, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Sentara Medical Center. She was born in Waynesboro, VA on December 23, 1935, a daughter of the late Alton N. and Nellie P. (Patterson) Lewis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, E. Ray Fitzgerald; sister, Gayle Beard and her husband, Robert; and sister-in-law, Shirley Lewis.

Survivors include her second husband, Wallace E. Wampler; son, Kelly M. Fitzgerald and wife, LaDonna; daughter, Kari Leach and husband, Auburn; brothers, Wayne Lewis, Merle Lewis and wife, Roberta, and Garry Lewis and wife, Donna; sister, Linda Chaffins and husband, Doug; a special niece and nephew Anne Gaul and husband, Gary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Sherando United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2022 Howardsville Tpke., Stuarts Draft, VA 24477, with Rev. Clayton Payne officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
