

Born January 17, 1920 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Denton Boyd Myers and Lonnie Bell Herron Myers.
Mrs. Whitesell was married to the late Basiel Alexander Whitesell who established Myers and Whitesell, Inc. in 1945 and she served as Secretary for the corporation for many years. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and past Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and choir member. Brownie worked for the Waynesboro Public Schools for more than 20 years and retired as the Manger of the Waynesboro High School Cafeteria Program. She was the past president of Home Demonstration Club of Augusta County for many years and active in the District of Clubs. She shared her love of fishing and cooking with everyone that she met. She enjoyed traveling and had traveled to 37 countries, extending over 5 continents.
Survivors include her son, Jay N. Whitesell and daughter in law, Jane C. Whitesell; son, Gerald K. Whitesell and daughter in law, Frances T. Whitesell; daughter, Denise W. Valz and son in law, Ltc. Retired, Darwin K. Valz; grandchildren, Denise Cole and husband Bob, Robert Whitesell and wife Kathy, Kevin Whitesell and wife Amanda, Dr. Krista Valz, Kori Valz, MS, Starr Cochran and husband Dwayne, Michael Whitesell and wife Lisa; great-grandchildren, Alexa Cole, Andrew Cole, Alex Whitesell, Kelly Whitesell, Madison Whitesell, Cassie Whitesell, Kristopher Cochran, McKenna Whitesell, Heritage Whitesell, Seth Whitesell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Augusta Memorial Park with Dr. John McDonald officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street.
