Obituary of Christopher Alwin Carter
Christopher Alwin Carter, 44, of Nellysford passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond. Born May 21, 1977 in Staunton, he was the son of Hunter P. Huffman and Pamela (Coyner) Doyle. On December 13, 2014 he married John Wayne Carter, Jr. The two shared 10 wonderful years together of which they were happily married for six. Christopher spent his days making his clients beautiful as he worked as a master cosmetologist at Studio 3.6, Charlottesville. Along with John, the two bred Dachshund dogs. He greatly enjoyed going antiquing, visiting thrift stores and amusement parks, and going on beach trips. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth “PawPaw” Coyner; nephew, Christian Alexander Midgett; and aunt, Rhonda Coiner. He is survived by his spouse, John Carter, Jr. of Nellysford; mother and step-father, Pamela Doyle and Dennis; father and stepmother, Hunter Huffman and wife, Lori of Staunton; sister, Jessica Midgett and husband, Bryan of Rodanthe, NC; two nieces, Bryanna and Summer Grace Midgett; maternal grandmother, Mary “MawMaw” Coyner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Skip Carter of Waynesboro; sisters-in-law, Terry Carter and wife, Alisa Gates of Palymra, Va and Renee Carter Hall and husband, Jeff of PawPaw, WV; his fur babies, Kingston, Pixie, Dixie, Lola, Presley, Penny, Thelma and Louise, Jasper, and Juniper; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends following the service.
