

Curtis D. Cash, 71, formerly of Fishersville and more recently of Waynesboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Memory Care Unit of the Regency Senior Living Center, Fishersville.
Curtis was born on October 27, 1951 to the late Samuel C.E. and Thelma Marie (Livick) Cash.
Curtis was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School Class of 1971. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Hollister where he worked for 20 ½ years, and later was employed by Cadence, Inc. Curtis was a member of Connections Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft, a lifetime member of the Preston L. Yancey Fire Company and a member the Eagles Aerie Lodge 2129.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Simmers; sister, Marie Cowardin; brothers-in-law, Cecil “Eddie” Desper, Bob Cowardin, and Ronnie Wilkins; and sister-in-law, Pamela Cash.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Shirley (Desper) Cash; daughters, Sherry Andersen and husband, Devin, and Wendy Simmers and husband, Timothy; five brothers, Tommy Cash and wife, Brenda, Rodger Cash and wife, Rhonda, Glenn Cash, Gary Cash and wife, Darlene, and Ervin Cash and wife, Linda; sister, Jane Wilkins; sister-in-law, Faye West Desper; six grandchildren, Lane Miller, Bekah Miller, Austin Andersen, Alyssa Andersen, Samantha Simmers and Brandon Simmers. He also leaves a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor JR. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be members of the Augusta County Fire Department Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
