Delmar William Thacker

He was born on August 20, 1939, a son of the late Floyd O. and Agnes Robertson Thacker.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran and attended Stuarts Draft Baptist Church.

Prior to retirement, he was owner of the former Tire Discount in Waynesboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Thacker, a brother, Robert Thacker and a sister, Violet Hewitt.

Survivors include a son, Jeff Thacker of Stuarts Draft; a daughter, Kelly Jackson and her husband, Neil of Waynesboro; a sister, Lee Whitesell and her husband, Gary, of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, Derrick Jackson, Jordan Thacker, Benton Thacker, Chris Terry, and best friend Alan McDaniel, of Waynesboro.

Following cremation, a graveside service will held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, August 26, 2011 with Bill Watson officiating.

Military rites will be conducted by Stuarts Draft VFW Post 9339.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home; friends will be received at the residence.
