Donald Wythe Ratcliff

He was born December 28, 1941 in Staunton, a son of Joseph Wilmore and Thelma Hanger Ratcliff.

He retired from Brown and Root.

He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, was a musician, enjoyed watching his grandson play baseball, and was a lifetime member of the Wilson Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his mother of Staunton, survivors include his wife, Sheryl Carter Ratcliff, son, Tony Cooke and wife Kim, daughter, Anna Floriano and fiancé Bobby Blankenbaker, brother, J. Gary Ratcliff and wife Brenda, sister, Linda Yeago, grandchildren, Chastity (Dixey) Dingess and husband Cody, C E Sheets and wife Brooke, Jessica Sheets and her companion John Kirby and Henry Cooke, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He also leaves his K-9 companion “Toby”.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Sherando United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Clayton Payne.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Mays, Claude Warlightner, Rodney Johnson, Barry Robertson, Clyde Carter and Larry Carter.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
