

Dorothy Conner Potter, 77, of Waynesboro passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born March 25, 1934 in Goshen, VA the daughter of the late Lacy James and Dora Nicely Conner. She worked at Virginia Panel Corporation for 30 years. Dorothy was a member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who dearly loved her family. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earnest Wade, second husband, Fred Potter, daughter, Hope Wade, and a brother, Floyd Conner. Survivors include her daughters, Joy Wade of Waynesboro, Shirley Coffey and her husband, Donnie of Waynesboro, two grandchildren, Chessie Lyle and her husband Nick, and Dylan Coffey, as well as one great grandchild, Phoenix Lyle. Also surviving are two sisters, Stella Walters, Madeline Brown, and one brother James Marshall Conner. Dorothy also leaves behind best friends, Terry Stinespring, Maggie Strickland, Ethel Bell and Bonnie Sweet. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 31, 2011 at Edward Avenue Baptist Church, Waynesboro conducted by Mike Beverly. Burial will follow at High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Natural Bridge, VA. Active pallbearers will be Sherwood Hoover, Donnie Wade, Bill Wade, Donnie Runkle, Barry Simmons and Ronnie Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces, nephews and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes in Waynesboro.
