

Everett was born in Charlottesville to Everett J. Campbell Sr. and Louise Bell Campbell on April 23, 1941. He married Judith Vigh on September 16th, 1962. As a native of Nelson County, Everett graduated from Nelson County High School in 1958. In 1959 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, received a Meritorious Commission in 1968, served two tours in Vietnam, and retired from the Marines in 1979 with the rank of Captain. He attended college during off duty hours and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration. After leaving the military, Everett worked for Morton’s Frozen Foods as a Production Supervisor. He was employed by Hershey Chocolate in Stuarts Draft in 1982, serving in a variety of managerial positions and was promoted to Plant Manager in 2001 and retired from that position in 2006. He also served on the Board of Directors, including Chairman of the Board, for DuPont Community Credit Union from 2003-2024.
In addition to his parents, Everett is preceded in death by his brother, C. Bruce Campbell.
Everett is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith Campbell; children Donna Moffett (and husband Rob), Karen Wright (and husband Glenn), Michael Campbell (and wife Cheryl); and beloved grandchildren, Matthew Brown (and wife Melissa), Grayson Wright (and fiancé Ashley Morani), and Grant Wright; sister Shirley Wade; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Beech Grove Christian Church, 1207 Beech Grove Rd., Roseland, Virginia with Pastors Mike Coffey and Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Campbell, Glenn Wright, Rob Moffett, Matthew Brown, Grayson Wright, and Grant Wright. Honorary pallbearers are James Wade, Eddie Galvin, Glenn Page, and Jimmy Burke.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St. Waynesboro, VA.
